Environment is the first home to a fresh life. It nurtures the being with all it has to offer. We are born in the heart of our natural environment that continues to serve us throughout our life-span. It is unimaginable how different our lives would have been had we not taken birth in this generation, around this environment which has moulded itself in all the different ways it could to satisfy all the humanly needs and greed.
A human life born thousands of years ago accepted the environment, listened to the nature and was scared of it's wrath. They worshipped the nature and respected it's limits. Over time, humans developed better understanding about their surroundings and natural laws. They began interacting with their surroundings with the help of technology. It's always said that there are enough resources to need but never to meet human greed. As the passage of time, humans turned into dictators of their ecological environment and tried to have control over it. No natural law could stop them. But nature always had it's own boundaries. One time or the other, it has broken the man made restraints and it turned out to be so wild that it left the humans in terror.
For it's own selfish needs, men have cut down thousands of plant lives and killed forests, which were home to numerous species of plants, animals and birds. Many have turned extinct over time. Soil degradation has turned greenery into barren lands. Deforestation has also resulted into climate change to a negative extent, boosting earth's temperature and resulting in the ice plates of the Antarctica to melt. The melting of ice has eventually contributed to the raised water levels. The ozone layer depletion is a warning to make the humans aware of the devastation they have been causing to it's earthly home. The rate of pollution has also increased due to large scale industrialization and chemical products in wide range. People are suffering and dying from diseases born out of water and air pollution. The natural as well as the man made disasters are asking humans to stop their torment did not stop them from it's further abuse.
It's high time we recognise nature's limitations and respect the boundaries it has. Humans also get exhausted after a loaded day and need rest to function properly. Nature is no exception. It needs time to heal and serve with full potential. Nature communicates with us in it's own language. It blooms when it's content and floods when it's furious. Our ecological environment needs care and attention now more than ever. Adopting the strategy of โreduce, reuse, recycleโ could bring a positive change. Afforestation and water conservation should be highly encouraged. People have to be more aware of their own environment and opt for sustainable development in order to give a better earth to the future lives. It is to keep in mind that nature isn't our slave, but we are the children of mother nature.
