Taylor Swift was born in the Pennsylvania town of Wyomissing. When she was 12 years old, a computer repairman showed her how to play three chords on the guitar, which inspired her to write her debut song, “Lucky You.”
She resided on a Christmas tree farm in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and when the season rolled around, she joined the rest of the family in the business. She wasn't old enough to assist in the attachment of trees to car roofs, so she was in charge of the bugs, notably knocking the praying mantis pods out of the trees.
She authored a 350-page novel over the course of one summer when she was 12 years old, but it was never published. She has also stated that she would like to write her own biography because "it would be nice to write a book about all the crazy stuff and the weird things I've gotten to accomplish years from now." My life passes so quickly that I have to write it all down or I won't remember where I was yesterday."
She not only writes and sings, but she also plays guitar, banjo, piano, ukulele, and electric guitar. And, because she's already skilled at everything (read: musical instruments), she's also a talented painter.
Austin Swift is Taylor Swift's younger brother. He attends Vanderbilt University and works as a freelance photographer for Getty Images in his leisure time. In fact, his photographic portfolio includes photographs of his elder sister for a People magazine shoot in 2009.
She must wear contact lenses unless she has had Lasik eye surgery, because she was practically blind only a few years ago. She claims to wear the ugliest glasses you'll ever see.
In terms of current real estate, she purchased a four-bedroom mansion in Belle Meade, Tennessee for her parents. She does, however, split her time between a three-bedroom duplex penthouse in Midtown Nashville, Tennessee, and a three-bedroom villa in Beverly Hills, California. She also has an eight-bedroom summer home in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, on the shore.
She once admitted to being obsessed with shopping mode iPhone cases, particularly the vintage, handmade ones available on Etsy. Even in terms of dress, she prefers more retro trends.
