Hey Wanderlusts!!
This blog is for you people. Get to know more about Maldives, an excellent place to visit as soon as this lockdown ends. Maldives had come up with a plan of upgrading the country that is development of floating city. This plan includes the following recreation. I promise that you are gonna love it.
The Maldives Floating City is designed by Netherlands-based Dutch Docklands which will feature thousands of waterfront residences and services functioning in a grid across a more than a 500-acre lagoon.
The structure of the city is inspired by the way in which real brain coral is organized. The nature-based structure of roads and water canals in the city will resemble the corals a tourist attraction in Maldives.
The city will be composed of hexagon-shaped segments connected to a ring of barrier islands around the lagoon that will serve as breakers down below. This setting will lessen the impact of lagoon waves and stabilize the structures and complexes on the surface.
The floating city is planned to incorporate innovative sustainable development technologies with best practices to protect and preserve the marine ecosystem.
No cars will be allowed in the floating city, only bicycles/ scooters reducing the carbon emissions and noise pollution. Additionally, artificial coral banks will be attached to the underside of the city which will stimulate coral to grow naturally.
Over 80 percent of the land area of Maldives is less than one meter above mean sea level and a sea level rise of even a meter would cause the loss of the entire land area of Maldives. The Floating City can a solution to this problem.
The construction of the city will begin in 2022 and will be completed in a period of the next 5 years with schools, hospitals, commercial and government buildings in its plans and houses pricing from $250,000.
That's a great initiative, isn't it? The plan is environmental friendly, sustainable and going to be one of the best recreation. Looking forward for it.
