Hello welcome to my new blog introduction for ‘chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’ .

Shivaji maharaj was born on 19 February 1630 at Shivneri fort which is situated in kosar at Maharashtra. Shivaji maharaj full name is shivaji Bhonsale. His mother name was jijabai and father name was shahaji . 

Shivaji Maharaj has captured almost 360 forts  in India which shows he was the great maratha warrior. He was known for his excellent military and guerilla warfare which was a pride for maratha empire . 

The biggest fort he captured was Raigad fort which was under his control for almost the time period of 26 years . This is a hill fort whose height is 1.3 km . It is located around 60 km in pune district of maharashtra. 

Shivaji maharaj was also known the the father of Indian navy .

Shivaji Maharaj had killed many mughal empire as we can say that he had defeated the mughal empire . In 1659, the Afzal khan the famous general and governer of shayista khan sent by the mughal emperor aurangzeb had been killed by shivaji maharaj.

There are some forts which prove that the Shivaji Maharaj was the greatest ruler of the maratha empire - 

Torna -  It is located at Torna trek path, Charhat Wadi, Maharashtra . This was the first fort which was captured by shivaji maharaj at the age of 16. He constructed many monuments on these massive place. 

Sinhagad - It is located at Sinhagad Ghat road, Thoptewadi, Maharashtra. This fort was captured by tanaji who was the great soldier leader of the shivaji maharaj military. He died in these capturing of this fort but he was a very great leader .

Shivneri - It is located at Unnamed road, Just, Junnar, Maharashtra. It is the birthplace of Shivaji Maharaj. In this fort there are the small temples of goddess Shiva Devi. 

Vijaydurg - It is located at vijaydurg, Maharashtra. It is a very beautiful fort . It was considers as the Shivaji maharaj best victory ever had . It was used an anchor for maratha warships.

Rajgad - Shivaji maharaj had spend more than 24 years on these fort . It was the birthplace of Chicano maharaj son Rajaram.

Some battles that had been fought by Chhatrapati shovaji Maharaj -

1.Bartel of Pavankhind in 1660.

2. Battle of Umberkhind in1661.

3. Battle of Poona in 1663.

4. Battle of Surat in 1664.

5. Battle of Sinhagad in 1670.

6.Battle of Mysore Plateau in 1677.

In the year 1680, shivaji Maharaj felt ill with fever and then died on 3 april 1680 at Raigad fort.
