The Cell Membrane Is The Main Defence For The Cell

Hh The cytoplasmic membrane is a thin 5 to 10nm layer lining the inner surface of the cell Wall and separating it from the cytoplasm. It act as a semi permeable membrane controlling the flow of metabolites to and from the protoplasm.Passage through the membrane is not solely a function of the molecular size of the particles but depends,in many cases,on the presence in the membrane of specific enzyme.Electron microscopy shows the presence of three layers constituting a unit membrane structure.Chemically, the membrane consist of lipo protein with small amount of carbohydrates.Sterols are absent, except in mycoplasma.

The bacterial cytoplasm is a colloidal system of a variety of organic and inorganic solutes solutes in a viscous watery solution. It differs from eukaryotic cytoplasm in not exibiting internal mobility and in the absence of endoplasmic reticulum or mitochondria. The cytoplasm stain uniformly with basic dyes in young culture but become increasingly with age.The cytoplasm contain ribosomes, mesosome, inclusion and vacuole.

Ribosomes are centre of protein synthesis. They are slightly smaller than the ribosomes of eukaryotic cell and are seen integrated in linear strand of mRNA to form polysome.

Mesosome are vesicular, convoluted or multi laminated structure formed as invagination of the plasma membrane in to the cytoplasm. They are more prominent in gram positive bacteria. They are the principal sites of respiratory enzyme in bacteria and are analogous to the mitochondria of eukaryotes.

Gram stain procedure

Crystal violet

Grams iodine

Acetone

Saffarnin

Mesosomes are often seen in relation to the nuclear body and the site of synthesis of cross wall septa suggesting that they co ordinate nuclear and cyto plasmic division during binary fission.

They are characteristic of different species and depend on the age and conditions of the culture. Their functionality is uncertain. They were thought to provide energy and phosphate reserves for cell metabolism, but they are most abundant in cells grown under deficient conditions  and  disappear when  deficient nutrients are supplied. There is a tendency. Mycoplasma is a bacterium that lacks a cell wall and therefore does not have a stable morphology. They appear as circular or elliptical objects, and as intertwined filaments. Bacteria lose their unique shape when cell wall synthesis is destroyed naturally or by drugs such as penicillin. Such cells are called protoplasts, spheroplasts, or L. Thank you everyone. I hope my vlog is not bad.Thank you.
