Hello viewers today I am going to explain about Forest and it's importance.lets move on to the topic.

Forest is very good and very important to our earth, because of forest many trees are saved and many chances to rain fall.Rain fall helps to decrease pollution and develop to live birds and animals. They provide wood, food, fooder fibre and medicine.Trees are very helpful for all medicines and also helpful for rainfall.deforestation and it's effect

Deforestation and it's effect

Deforestation is the destruction of large area of forest. This happen for many reasons like intensive agriculture, urbanization, construction of dams, roads, building and industries, hydro electric project, forest fire, construction of mountain and forest road.It is a threat to the economy, quality of life and future of the environment.India is losing about 1.5 million hectares of forest cover every year.

Effect of deforestation

Deforestation give rise to ecological problem like flood, drought, soil erosion, loss of wild life, extinction of species, imbalance of bio geo chemical cycle, alterations of climatic conditions and desertification.

Conservation of forest

India has an area of 752.3 lakhs hectares classified as reserved forest and 215.1 lakhs hectares as protected forest. The important measures taken for conservation of forest are as follows

Afforestation: Activities for afforestation programme includes planting and protecting trees with multiple uses which help in restoration of green cover.Destruction of tree should be curtailed.

Social forestry programme

It should be undertaken on a large scale with active participation of the public and utilisation of common land to produce fire wood, fodder and timber for the benefit of the rural community. This relieves pressure on existing forest and to safe guard future of tribal.

Forest conservation through law

Adopting stringent laws and policies to conserve and protect forest are through national forest policy,1952 and 1988 and forest conservation act,1980.

Forest are major factor of environmental concern. They act as carbon sink, regulate climatic conditions, increase rain fall , reduce global warming, prevent natural hazards like flood and land slides, protect wild life and also act as catchment for water conservation. They also play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance.Natural resources are conserved for their biological, economic and recreational value. The use of natural resources in excess and unplanned way leads to imbalance in the environment.

Thank you

Forests are an important component of our environment and are dominated by microorganisms, flowering plants, shrubs, climbers, dense trees and provide a vast habitat for wild animals. Forests also contribute to the economic development of our country. Forests are vital for human life, it is a source for a wide range of renewable natural resource. They provide wood, food, fodder, fibre and medicine. Forests are major factor of environmental concern. They act as carbon sink, regulate climatic conditions, increase rainfall, reduce global warming, prevent natural hazards like flood and landslides, protect wildlife and also act as catchments for water conservation.
